Who We Are
We are the University of Wisconsin-Madison's core computational service provider for large scale computing. CHTC services are open to UW-Madison staff, students, faculty, and external collaborators. We offer both a High Throughput Computing system and a High Performance Computing cluster. Access to CPUs/GPUs, high-memory servers, data storage capacity, as well as personalized consultations and classroom support, are provided at no-cost.

What computing services do you provide?
CHTC provides access to batch computing through both High Throughput Computing (HTC) and High Performance Computing (HPC) resources. For CHTC users, we provide consulting, training, and software support.Am I eligible for a CHTC account?
Students, faculty, staff, and other university affiliates who need computing resources for research or approved courses are eligible for a CHTC account.How do I get an account?
You can get a CHTC account by following the steps found on the account registration page.Do I need to know how to code to use CHTC?
No. In general, you should know how to run your code or program (on your laptop or other computers), but coding experience is not required. Bring your code, program, or workflow and the CHTC Facilitation Team can guide you through running it on our computing systems. Many new users learn the necessary skills as they get started. CHTC provides training materials and support to help users succeed.How much does it cost to use CHTC?
CHTC services are available at no cost to UW-Madison researchers, their projects, and approved collaborators. There is no ceiling to use CHTC shared computing resources.
